The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, in collaboration with the Wild Animal Rescue Foundation, has made significant progress in tackling the issue of monkey overpopulation in urban areas.

 

The first phase of this initiative involves the construction of a 7,000 square metre enclosure for monkeys in the Huai Sai Wildlife Breeding Station, located in Phetchaburi province.

 

This marks a notable advancement in the Phetchaburi Model project initiated by Dr Yutthaphon Angkinan, former advisor to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

 

Dr Yutthaphon revealed that the project was instigated to manage and maintain the health of the wildlife and resolve the issue of monkeys disturbing the public.

Actually not tackling the over population of monkeys....just giving them a home behind wire. Of course, the compound will be a huge cost (probably riddles with corruption) and then these bloody pests need to be fed.

They started neutering these things some years back...especially in Lopburi...I think Hua Hin also ...that of course, all became too hard, no funds etc, after a short time and stopped.

In my opinion, that is not a solution but displacement of the problem.
Same with street dogs, people don't want to solve it.

Urban overpopulation problem swings towards solutions. 

 

Yea right there's only One way to fix this ,same with the Soi Dogs, 

Exterminate  the Vermin works 100% No fences No neutering and cheapest of all.

Forget about the Buddhist Religion that animals are more important then People(so it seems) and get on with it.

Over populated monkey habitats ! ... overpopulated by ?  Greedy Humans !
