A Prisoner named Chaowalit was involved in a shootout with police yesterday in a remote mountainous hideout in Trang. 
He had escaped from a hospital on Oct 22nd after pretending to to be sick.. 

The shootout lasted more than 2 hours, officers seized 2 rifles, a 9mm pistol and more than 600 rounds of ammunition, it’s unknown how many other men were with the prisoner.

The 37 year old , was serving time for attempted murder and faced multiple other charges, 
Officers resumed their search for the man this morning.

 

Two Taiwanese and two Japanese nationals were arrested yesterday on charges of operating a fraudulent call scam. This scheme targeted some 17,500 victims in Japan, resulting in losses totaling 9.5 billion baht in less than two years.

 

The victims were deceived by imposters posing as bank officials who claimed their accounts were compromised and instructed them to transfer funds to a supposed secure account set up by the group. Police searched 2 houses in Samut Sakhon, where they confiscated mobile phones, computers, and documents.

 

The Criminal Court sentenced four Bangkok police officers to five years in jail for extorting 27,000 baht from a Taiwanese actress and her friends in January this year.

 

The officers charged them with possession of vapers and failing to produce their passports. The officers demanded the money in exchange for dropping charges, while two other officers were acquitted. The court also ordered the extorted money to be surrendered to the state.

 

A heavily loaded 10-wheel lorry that became stuck when a steel plate gave way on Sukhumvit road was recovered after a 6 hour operation to hoist the vehicle from the gap in the road. The incident caused 2 injuries and extensive traffic delays.
