SWIFT action was taken after photos of a Chinese tourist wearing Thai police uniform circulated online with investigation revealing that a policeman had lent his uniform shirt to him to wear and take these pictures, Naewna newspaper said this evening (Dec. 5).

Pol. Maj. Gen. Somporn Sajpot, deputy chief of Police Education Bureau and spokesman, said National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukwimon had ordered an urgent investigation of these photos that show a man with a short haircut standing behind the tourist wearing the police uniform.

Moreover this tourist is also holding a police black cap emblazoned with the insignia and the Royal Thai Police title.

It was discovered that the man standing at the back is an officer at the Central Police Tactical Training Centre.

The Thai police are so helpful, they will give you the shirt off their back.

I wonder what was so urgent as there is no word that the cop was disciplined or fired. And are they sure that the tourist is a dude?  Looks like an unattractive woman to me.

I had to go to the "Full Story" to determine if the uniform was being worn by a male, or female. I'm still wondering.:cowboy:

Breaking news.

Aseannow journalism at its best!

So will the real Thai Cop get sent to an 'inactive' post for a few days?:whistling:

Fake news - the shirt was nowhere near tight enough!

The important thing to note here is that the incident has enabled a committee to be formed to determine if and offence has been committed.

So the Thai officer in this story will get punished for a possible PR stunt, but take a 1,000,000 baht bribe to let a suspect flee the country, and....

I see nothing ie Sergeant Schultz

Some Chinese take advantage of them knowing they are sought after by the Thais to boost their tourism.

JUDGING BY some comments, you expect intelligence from RTP OFFICERS, sadly yes we do, but this was an OFFICER FROM THE CENTRAL Educational ESTABLISHMENT OF THE RTP, so what are the standards of the teachers, very low it seems .

Cop should be fired.

Not for letting the tourist wear his uniform, but for being stupid enough to be photographed in the Chinese tourist's selfie.

That's the sort of fellow who might write "bribe" on an official receipt.

I thought the Chinese were not going to help the RTP, just trying on the uniform for when they do arrive init. :giggle:

The tourist would like make a better cop than the uniform owner....but what price a piece of p***Y...or whatever this person has down below?

Oh there are lots of them tourists up my way, always sitting around in bars and restaurants or looking at their phones sitting on their bikes,  they certainly dont behave like police so now the puzzle is solved!

How do you sex a chromosome? You take its genes off.

Is this one of the Chinese cops that were coming here,

Looks like there is no stopping in pleasing Chinese tourists

coming to Thailand 🥳

Anything goes 🤯

The real issue is not that a chinaman is wearing an RTP uniform.

It is not if the chinese are going to assume a more viable role in policing Thailand.

The real issue is the chinaman's haircut.

Haircut is not to regulation!

I am always amazed that there are so many qualified parachutists in Thailand

If it makes any difference, I own a Royal Thai Police baseball cap.  I bought it from someone selling police equipment to RTP at Vipawadee Police station (the one at the police apartments) parking lot.

Wheres Xi helmet 🤔
