webfact
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin directed the army to intensify its efforts to curb illicit drug smuggling along the Myanmar frontier. The directive was issued yesterday, December 5, during a meeting with the army chief, General Songwit Noonpackdee. The prime minister specifically emphasised the importance of the military’s collaboration with the police in executing this task. PM Srettha also stressed the need to tackle the unrest in the South, with the help of the Malaysian forces. He expressed his approval of the army’s strategies and plans aimed at resolving this issue. In his address, the 61 year old Thai PM urged the military to play an increased role in community service, particularly in areas such as disaster management during times of flood or drought. The Bangkok-born politician also highlighted the importance of their involvement in suppressing the illegal drug trade and in environmental protection, like forest fire prevention. “We need a stronger bond between the army and locals.” by Mitch Connor Photo courtesy of Bangkok Post Full story: The Thaiger 2023-12-06 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. ChrisY1
Just PR speak....Just the words "military collaboration" no doubt has several meanings..none of which anyone in authority wants to do anything about. The Myanmar and Thailand military work alongside each other. The sheer volume of drugs entering Thailand has to indicate a level of collusion....it's hard to believe otherwise. What exactly does the RTP do...apart from a few roadside shoot outs and chases....

Ever wondered what happens to all the drugs that the army and RTP get their hands on. Ever seen it transparently disposed of and verified by independent witnesses? Have another coup, a lot of Thais say the best thing Thuckin ever did was to get the police to quietly? do away with the drug dealers so cutting down on the drugs on the street. Worked well a lot of Thies where happy a lot less drugs about, but the army Generales where not so happy, they income dropped, so word on the street said they instrumented the coup that ousted Tucksin . Seems our new PM does not know his Thai history.
