webfact
A lorry carrying 15 Burmese workers collided with a container truck in Pathum Thani province, injuring all the passengers. The incident occurred around 6am today. The Isuzu pickup truck, driven by an unidentified man, lost control and crashed into the container truck, leading to multiple casualties. According to the initial investigation by Warut Poomsak, a duty officer at the Khlong Luang Police Station, the accident took place on Phahonyothin Road, at the 35+400 kilometre marker, in Khlong Luang district. Assisting him in the investigation was Deputy Superintendent Nathawat Thaksin from the same police station, local traffic police, and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation. At the accident scene, several injured people were found in the overturned Isuzu pickup with the Surat Thani license plate number ผท391. First responders quickly transported the injured men and women, all of Burmese nationality, to the hospital. Approximately 20 metres away from the pickup, a Volvo container truck with Bangkok license plate number 64-2658 and trailer number 71-4119 from Nakhon Pathom was parked. The driver, 32 year old Phurich (surname withheld), was waiting for the police at the scene. by Nattapong Westwood Picture courtesy of KhaoSod Full story: The Thaiger 2023-12-07 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Gandtee
How many times are we going to read of foreign workers being killed or injured while being transported to, or from work? Are they just expendable
Bangkok Barry
Can someone please tell Nattapong Westwood that it wasn't the pickup that lost control, but the driver. How difficult is that to understand?
