An opposition MP in Phuket is demanding an explanation for a recent police reshuffle that saw the nephew of Thaksin Shinawatra’s ex-wife promoted to the top job with immigration police at Phuket Airport.

 

Rangsiman Rome from the Move Forward Party took to Facebook to question the appointment.

 

He also questioned why Phuket’s former commissioner of immigration police resigned suddenly and was immediately transferred to Prachuap Khiri Khan, with a replacement appointed.

cronies, nepotism, sycophants, brown nosers, brown envelopes, boys in brown... and the list goes on. is there any doubt that these guys dont get promoted on merit?

Just more evidence if any where needed that Thaksin, PTT and every last hi-so or Thai institution bar none are absolutely corrupt and rotten to the very core

 

The whole shebang needs to be burnt to the ground then rebuilt from the embers nothing else can work as whole system is rotten beyond redemption...

Quite, it's only a rumour, that opposition MP should be facing deformation of reputation charges.

Of course, top cop at immigration at Phuket would likely be one of, if not the biggest, money making scam sites in Thailand.

In Thailand, it's impossible to escape the grip the RTP have over every profitable enterprise....legal or otherwise, the cops are always at the front!

 

How do we know he was not promoted on merit.  Just because he is related to a Hi-So does not necessarily mean his promotion was not deserved!

Give the man a break, this is more likely just mere mud raking without facts!

It's amazing that ageing gets you a promotion.  I swear some of these companies have people on the payroll that haven't turned up to work for decades.

The previous Imm Chief in Phuket, Col Thanet Sukchaiwas, appears to have been forced out (he resigned, but then maybe took the Prachuap Kiri Khan Imm chief position) to make room for this nepo baby.

 

It is a lucrative posting.
