Firefighters were called to extinguish a blazing inferno that had engulfed a house late at night. The property belongs to a man who had left it in the care of his grandson and his family. The entire building was destroyed in the fire that is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit at around 10pm yesterday. Police Colonel Udom Pholkamnerd, an inquiry officer at Ban Pong Police Station in Ratchaburi, coordinated with various local fire brigades and a local charity foundation to tackle the blaze.

The affected property is a single-storey house with a zinc roof. The fire spread rapidly due to the large number of household items stored within. Firefighters took about 30 minutes to bring the situation under control. Preliminary inspection revealed that the house was completely destroyed by the fire, reported KhaoSod.

The village head, Prajuab Nutjan, explained that the house belonged to Ekachai Janprem, who used to operate a restaurant from the premises. However, he had moved his business elsewhere, leaving his grandson, his wife and their child to live there and look after the property and its contents. At the time of the incident, no one was home as they had not yet returned from work, hence no injuries were reported. Only property damage occurred, the cost of which is yet to be assessed.
