Excessive levels of PM2.5 dust have been measured in 71 areas of Bangkok and its peripherals in the past 24 hours, with the highest level being recorded in Paknam sub-district of Samut Prakan province, according to the Pollution Control Department at 7am Monday morning.

 

The PM2.5 levels range from 27.3 to 65.9 microns (μg), against the safe threshold level of 37.5μg.

So what's the governor been doing to clean up his province since he took office... he can't blame the last guy this is on his watch.

I guess the rich either leave the country whenever it gets bad or hides in their homes 24/7. Rich perhaps but dumber than a brink not understanding the smog is slowly killing off their own families.

Where did they pull the PM2.5 number of 65.9 from? I'd consider that a relatively healthy day. Checked IQ air a few minutes ago: 160 in Bangkok; 152 in Pattaya. Which might lead one to assume the majority of pollutants are not from vehicles... I'd hazard the guess it is field burning

Forecast PM 2.5 for tomorrow is supposed to be really bad, 200+ Purple.

From where do you get this information please? I have IQAir app on my phone, and Bangkok is currently (18.45) 68 US AQI. Chiang Mai is 80. New Delhi = 251 and Osaka = 8.

Todays AQI map below - numbers for Bangkok range from 17 to 155.

 

Out-door activities at my sons school have been moved indoors because of the pollution - but the map indicates most areas are 'moderate'
