Today’s weather in Thailand sees a mix of cold in the north, stormy conditions in the south, and a forecast of rainfall across 19 provinces, including the capital city, Bangkok, and its surrounding regions.

According to the Thai Meteorological Department‘s 24-hour forecast, high atmospheric pressure or mass cold air covers the northeastern regions and the South China Sea. This, combined with an easterly wind, has resulted in foggy conditions in the upper part of the country during the morning hours.

In the eastern and lower central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, there are instances of rainfall. The northern and northeastern regions continue to experience cold mornings. Meanwhile, a westward wind current is moving to cover the upper northern region, resulting in isolated thundershowers and a temperature drop of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. Residents in these upper areas are advised to take care of their health due to the changing weather conditions and to exercise caution when travelling through foggy areas.

The prevailing northeastern monsoon is covering the Gulf of Thailand and the southern region, resulting in heavy rain in some areas of the lower south. The lower Gulf of Thailand is experiencing wave heights of 1 to 2 metres, and in areas with thundershowers, the waves can reach over 2 metres.

At this time, lower northern, northeastern, central, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and eastern regions are likely to have accumulated dust particles/smog, ranging from moderate to high levels, due to weak winds.
