Russia Dismisses Proposed Peace Deal from Trump Transition Team
The other problems Russia faces are its pariah status, and the removal of sanctions, which are crippling its financial system and ability to trade freely. There's no guarantee sanctions will be lifted in any peace deal. Worse still, foreign investment will be very reluctant to come back to a kleptocracy which seized many foreign companies with zero compensation. Any major projects Russia wants to develop will have to be funded by the Chinese, who are not noted for their benevolence in financial transactions. Their help will come at a steep price. Putin is ex-KGB. He's good at thieving, but has no economic credentials to speak of. -

American on Dirt Bike Kills Thai Woman Crossing Road in Chiang Mai
Again, if they charged him without any evidence besides that he hit the woman that's wrong, and maybe prejudicial. People, pedestrians, get hit every day in many countries because they did something without thinking. Pedestrians also get hit because the driver that hit them was doing something wrong, so again, until there is evidence, you cannot charge someone with anything. If you do, you're assuming, and that's wrong period. -

A jihadist just killed 15 in one city and terrorism supporters march in another hours later
The reference was to Afghanistan. Not what happened in NOLA. I suppose it was too much at once for you to comprehend. -

You can save Ukrainian POWs!
Just to be clear, if Russia (or Ukraine, for that matter) lets them go, are they headed back to the front line? -

Japanese Tourist Fined for Defying Sky Lantern Ban in Chiang Mai
I'm going to go back on what I said... This Japanese guy deserves whatever is coming to him... he acted like a total d!ck.. If he'd have just let the policeman take the lantern I'm sure nothing would have happened. That said: Why stop this one lantern when thousands (possibly tens of thousands) of lanterns were being released all over the city? Video below: -

Neil Young Withdraws from Glastonbury, Citing BBC Corporate Influence
Knowing the BBC I seriously doubt that it would be just one "demand". The BBC is probably insisting that all performers must now align with the BBC's "politically educational" output. -

Bank of Thailand Boosts Mobile Security with New Transfer Limits
"very few farang have a Thai credit card, for well known reasons". I don't know how many farangs have Thai credit cards and I doubt forum members know either. I also don't know why they don't obtain one since it's not that difficult, even without tying up a credit limit amount of savings. My bank asked me if I wanted one after ten years with them and no funds are tied up, I'm sure I can't be the only one. -

Cooking oil
There is only one oil available in Thailand that is very healthy for cooking and that is rice bran oil. It is the top oil in Thailand for the money has a very high flashpoint, has a great flavor and it's super healthy and super high in polyunsaturated fatty acids. The seed oils have a high flash point, but there's a lot of evidence that points towards them being unhealthy for a number of reasons. Olive oil is also another good choice but it's many times the cost of rice bran oil and coconut oil is also great choice but it really colors the taste of the food, and is also quite expensive.
