My lady is 40 and has a 20 year old daughter.

She just moved in with me here in sydney.

They have been here 10 years.

It was important to her to have her shrine set up so it is in a prominent place in my apt.

Her daughter walked in yesterday and i noticed quite a shock on her face when you saw the shrine, she really did a double take.

She came back later that night for a visit with her thai student boyfriend.

They both said they were scared of buddha shrine?

I wonder is this guilt for not observing or what?

My lady is not what i would call a devout temple goer ,more just for luck than anything i think.

Just interested in anyone elses experiences.

I dont think so.

Lek says its because often in thailand the parents scare the kids when they are naughty or recalcitrant that buddha will get them.

She reckons it just stays with them.
