Trump draws backlash over reaction to Mueller’s death

Featured Replies

President Donald Trump has sparked strong criticism after publicly welcoming the death of former FBI director Robert Mueller. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!” The remark quickly drew condemnation from political figures and commentators across the spectrum.

Mueller, who led the high-profile investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 US election, had long been a target of Trump’s criticism. The president repeatedly attacked Mueller during and after the probe, describing it as politically motivated.

However, Trump’s reaction to Mueller’s death marked a significant escalation in tone, prompting accusations that the comments were inappropriate and disrespectful. Critics argued that such statements undermine norms of political discourse, particularly following the death of a public servant.

Allies of Mueller highlighted his decades of service, including his leadership of the FBI and his role as special counsel. Many noted that, despite intense political pressure during the investigation, Mueller maintained a low public profile and avoided direct confrontation with Trump.

The backlash to Trump’s comments reflects the continuing divisions surrounding the Russia investigation and its legacy. While Trump supporters have long criticised the probe, others view Mueller as a figure who upheld the rule of law during a politically charged period.

Trump is such a warm, people person.

And maybe now there will be consideration to reopen russiarussiarussia, as the boss calls it. Someday there will be an unredacted version of his report.

Pretty low, insulting the guy while the corpse is still warm. Classy, eh?

So different and absolutely no comparison.........Mueller was a US hero whilst trump is a dumb US coward and a clown. RIP Robert Mueller. Go to hell trump.

"Thank God for that ( what took you so long, Almighty Maker?)"

Losers hate people who are everything that themselves are not. I've encountered a few in my time.

IMO Mueller held back because he didn't want to face the ire of the free-reign president (it's an easy bet the next time a Dem president wins the WH that SCOTUS bs about not indicting a president will vanish moments after he takes his hand off the Bible at the oath). Barr covered for DT, but all the same he is on 47's shirtlist. Can we now please begin the investigation of Putin 's relationship with DT prior to, and since, the 2016 election? If they threaten Barr with contempt he'll poo his pants like he did during his time as AG.

Hey, this was aired on Fox! That will qualify it as gospel truth to some in this forum.

What a disgusting excuse for any man much less a president. It would be so easy for him to shut his mouth and stick his fingers up his rear end rather than typing insults on his phone.

Cry me a river when trump croaks and there are wild celebrations in the street all over the world.

Hopefully Trump will disappear in a puff of smoke and never have a headstone.

Trump is the Antichrist sent by satan.

The grifter is pure evil, always has been and always will be. Hs not one ounce of kindness in its soul. All the animal cares about is money. One day hopefully he will lose the lot and spend his last remaining years in a strightjacket in a mental institution.

Historically presidents have been expected to show some grace, dignity and compassion, however Trump has thrown all that out the window.

He is an absolute pig, and no level of decorum is expected of him anymore. This very ugly man possesses such hatred, such bitterness, and his upbringing was such a failure, he must have been subjected to so much abuse by his parents that he just doesn't behave like a civilized person.

Everything that comes out of his mouth is ugly, nasty, critical, vindictive, hateful, vengeful or bitter. This man is one nasty piece of work and is the last man in the world that should be leading America right now. He needs to go, he needs to be shut down, however that can be accomplished it needs to be done.

Why? He was a patriot.

A reminder, once again that having money does not equate with having class.

I'll take someone who speaks the truth about how they feel.
You prefer liars ? Pretty odd

To whom are you referring to as speaking the truth? Surely not trump who has been historically documented as a consummate liar.

Trump wrote: “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

Free Speech for Everyone

The Truth seems to hurt some people

True that he is just himself with his uncouth and undignified manner like a street hoodlum but but he is the President.

I sure will be celebrating immensely the day this buffoon is gone from this planet. Together with 7 billion people, we will have a party.

I suggest a national holiday all over the world. Trump is the most disgusting leader the world has ever seen.

That’s rich, coming from someone who defends the biggest liar of them all. That’s what I find pretty odd. Double standard much?

You also said you’ll take someone who speaks the truth about how they feel. How about when Charlie Kirk was killed? What was your reaction then when someone said something about him you didn’t like?

Although I don’t remember anyone in (high) office coming even close to saying anything like the hateful garbage Trump posted about Mueller. But MAGA (and I suspect you as well) already lost their sh!t when anyone didn’t mourn Charlie Kirk enough to their liking. Double standard much?

I'm sure there will be no unkind words on this forum about Trump on the day he passes away. 😄

I'm sure all the bitter hateful leftists will be entirely respectful just like they were with Kirk.

And I suspect many of us who are neither "leftists" nor on the right of the political spectrum wil celebrate his demise, because trump is a lying, arrogant and ignorant POS and one doesn't have to "hate" to see the truth.

The deceased believed that Russians were involved in election interference.
Vlad supporters believe that by "innocent people" President Trump meant Vladimir Putin or Dmitry Medvedev.

Whatever way you u look at it Trump is a dumb ****

I've never in 70 plus years I have survived for known anyone dumber than him

A clown as well

Trump holds the world record for lying in his first term. Don't confuse truth with insults.

I am sure no US President will declare he's glad Trump died. 😃

To be honest, it was at least not a partisan comment, as Mueller was a registered Republican! 😁

No. We will reserve the description traitor to put under Trump's name.
