No expressway tolls on Maka Bucha day tomorrow : ETA

Motorists will enjoy toll-free expressway use on Monday, February 26, a compensatory public holiday for Makha Bucha Day tomorrow, according to the Expressway Authority of Thailand.

 

The tollgates offering free passage are 19 on the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway, 31 on the Si Rat Expressway and 10 on the Udon Ratthaya Expressway.

Well, I thought the real Makha Bucha day was today - Saturday but there were no free tolls as I travelled from Pattaya to Bang Pa-in on motorways 7 & 9!!!   Wonder why they're free on a 'substitution day' instead?   Is there ANY logic in this country?
