Change single entry to multi entry

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a one year Non 'O' year based on retirement. It is a single entry visa.

Can I change it to a multi entry visa at Suvarnabhumi Airport before I fly out?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

A one year Non Imm O Visa should already be a Multi Entry.

My Non O retirement extension is stamped with, "please contact the immigration office for a Re - entry before leaving Thailand".

Yes no problem.

The counter is after security and just prior to passport control.

Zone 2. Left hand side.

BKK airport has a service available where they do the TM8 form and photo 200b

Multiple reentry is 3800b

So 4k all up if you have them do the form

You said you had a Single entry Non Imm O Visa. Not an extension of stay.

You seem to think that you automatically "have" a single entry with your one year visa.

You do not.  Please note if you leave the kingdom without any type of re-entry visa, your residence visa is void, and you will have to apply all over again.

Get a multiple entry at any immigration, or at the airport before you leave.

A multiple-entry Re-Entry Permit costs 3.800,- THB, while a single-entry Re-Entry Permit costs only 1.000,- THB.

Both are only valid from date of issuance till the expiry date of the Permission to stay you have.

Unless you plan to leave and re-enter Thailand at least 3 times in the period till expiry of your Permission to stay, it would be more economical to opt each time you leave for a single-entry Re-Entry Permit (which can be gotten on the spot at the Immigration counter of every major Thai international airport).
