Non Immigrant 'o' Marraige Visa

Featured Replies

My Non Immigrant 'O' Marraige visa expires next week and I don't have 400,000 B in the bank. I have been told I can make one trip to Mai Sai and stay a further month.

Is this true?

Not that I know of - but the good news is you should be able to receive a 60 day extension to visit wife under new provisions of Police Order 606/2006. It is paragraph 7.23 and allows up to 60 day extension of stay one time. It will cost normal 1,900 baht and a TM.7 form with photo and below documents:

1. Application form

2. Copy of applicant’s passport

3. Copy of census registration

4. Copy of the Thai national’s ID Card

5. Copy of marriage certificate or birth

certificate

If you are talking about crossing border and return for visa exempt entry rather that extension of stay - yes you can do that but should have 10k in cash and a ticket out of country within 30 days (although they probably will not be checked). You could do this up to three times (90 days). But I would use your 60 day at local immigration first.

You can also obtain multi entry non immigrant visas again in Penang if you can get that bank account back up (no report on what they require). Also Singapore will issue with a bank account of 400k (does not have to be in Thailand).

Be aware that if you do not renew your extension you probably will not be able to get this in the future with 400,000 Baht in the bank. You will need 40,000 Baht income.

Yay - I've only stayed in Thailand the whole 90 days once, because I delayed a trip to London to coincide with the school holidays (kids coming too) - but it was annoying to only get a 14 day extension when I had 15 more days until my flight.

Especially annoying as if I'd know I'd only get 14 days, I'd have booked the flights accordingly - I assumed that I'd get 30 as tourists get 30 day extension on their visas...)
