The Department of Rail Transport has ordered construction of the Pink Line extension to be suspended for a week, after liquid cement dropped onto the trunk and rear window of a passenger car at Impact Muang Thong Thani station.

Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit said today thathe has instructed the Rail Transport Department to ask its consultancy company to examine the operational proceduresof the contractors and to prevent such incident from reoccurring.

He said that the concessionaire of the project, Northern Bangkok Monorail (NBM), will have its performance score cut for the negligence, which may negatively affect their future bidding for government projects.

ELSA COSTUME SAVES THAI GIRL FROM PINK LINE CONSTRUCTION ACCIDENT

BANGKOK – The Transport Minister has ordered to halt construction of the Pink Line extension for seven days after cement went through a BMW car’s rear window, slightly injuring a three-year-old child inside. Fortunately, it’s tempered glass. In addition, the child wore a cloak, similar to Elsa from Frozen, to shield herself from broken glass.

It was reported that the accident occurred on March 30 at around 5:00 p.m. as concrete was being poured on the concourse floor of IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Station. While workmen were pouring concrete, the prototype side moved, causing pieces of liquid concrete to fall and break the BMW car’s rear window. As a result, one person in the backseat suffered minor injuries. Rescue volunteers then transported the injured person to the World Medical Hospital.

This could have been a lot worse.

A really bright three-year old. The kid decided to wear a cloak because they knew the rear window was going to shatter.....😋
