webfact
Pattaya — Pattaya Deputy Mayor Mr. Manoch Nongyai has provided an update on the beachfront landscape transformation project at Pattaya Beach, emphasizing that the project will be completed before the promised deadline. With a budget of 166 million baht, the project aims to enhance the landscape along Pattaya’s iconic 2.7-kilometer beachfront, stretching from the north end to the southern reaches of the city. The project aligns with Pattaya’s policy to improve the city’s overall image and provide better amenities for both residents and tourists. Mr. Manoch explained that the project will involve the removal of palm trees to make way for a one-lane road expansion along the North Pattaya and Central Pattaya section. The project is being carried out by Nong Nooch Landscape and Garden Design Co., Ltd, and according to the deputy mayor, it is expected to be completed before the contractual deadline. Currently, sidewalk construction is progressing at 80%, and the overall project is on track to be finished before the timeframe. champers
The company removing palm trees is the very same one that supplied and planted them in the first place. Nice work if you can get it.
Popular Post soi3eddie
I've walked the whole length of the beach road twice in the last few days. Some areas are so narrow between the trees that a wheelchair user would struggle to pass. Other areas are wider but there just seems to be so many obstructions along the way. Also, some areas it looks like they narrowed the walkway to add parking spaces on the beach side of beach road. Removing the trees is the last thing that should happen as it wouild spoil the look. Better to extend the walkway out a few metres onto the beach and unclutter. I'll also add that the whole length of beach road is dirty and smelly. They have put rubbish/garbage dumpsters every 30 metres or so on the beachside walkway (which is to be commended at this busy time), however at 7am today the smell was awful like walking through a garbage tip. The dumpsters did not appear full but really they need sanitizing once emptied. Quite horrible really and puts me off walking tomorrow morning. Screaming
The Thai's care nothing for trees or the environment, its all about money to them. The walking trail along Beach Road used to be wide with tall trees and vegetation (flowers) and places to sit. Now this trail is a disaster with many pitfalls in to invite injury. When you now walk on this trail you realize that you are in a third world country and not some hyped tropical holiday destination.

bradiston
Meanwhile down at Jomtien the one way system is all they've got to show for the mega shambles planned, whatever it is.

The one way system on Jomtien Beach Road is a disaster. You have all kinds of vehicles going the wrong way, and not a single policeman along the whole stretch to stop the madness. The traffic jam where the one way ends is horrendous, as all the vehicles from the one way have to turn left, and so do all the vehicles coming from the two way stretch! Only a single drive down this disaster of a road by the Mayor or anybody in authority, would make them cancel this immediately, but I guess they are too busy counting money.

mikebell
'the completion is now anticipated by around mid-2024.' Meanwhile on Sukhumvit the jams are causing 5 kms tailbacks; Jomtien is a disaster area which starts at Dongtan POLICE station in case people are wondering why there is no police presence/control. You can go straight on at the end of the one way heading south. But yeah, no police checks means chaos. Same up and down Soi 6 and 7. There are no information boards explaining what the schedule is. All the (reduced) business owners are pixxed off, but no word from City Hall.

Ladyboys trying to grab my gold, hookers trying to grab my nuts, elderly long time whoremongers, drug dealers and fake rolex sellers. It is an interesting walk.
