July 25, 200718 yr I have just read the thread about the trojan in true's router driver installation because my anti virus program found it too. I don't understand how but I managed to connect my adsl through network connections without installing the router drivers. I know they are not installed because there is no sign of the router in device manager however my internet connection is good. What's the problem you may well ask? I now wish to use DC++ and through trying to set this up I realise that I need to install the router drivers. I can't do this from the True cd because Macafee automatically deletes run.exe as it has a trojan. The router is a Billion Bipac 5200sr2. I went to Billion site and found a download but I can't install it (a ras file). I think it is an update. Wonder if any of you guys can help out here. I can't set up DC++ without installing the router software, still trying to find other sites with this driver (minus the trojan) Hopefully someone is running DC++ using true adsl and can advise Thanks
July 25, 200718 yr I use tot and my own modem and router, but can't you just go to http://192.168.1.1/ log in with true:true or admin:admin and enable upnp? http://www.thelordofwireless.com/modules.p...opic&t=4119
July 25, 200718 yr Hi, Geronimo. Although I don't know the router you have, I don't see why a router should have drivers for your OS. Follow makloey link for any configuration settings (for connecting with TRUE), if you have not done so. (edit): Richard-BKK quotes: When you use a router from True, they probably to surely not work in a multi connection configuration. What I know is that True disables most of the functions in the routers with uploading special modified firmware. I always say not buy your router from True, they sell good equipment but change the firmware so that it works like 20% what it can do. The Billion BiPAC 5200SR2is one of the best routers I ever work with... end quote. check the Billion site on flashing the router's firmware (be careful with that) and goto Port Forwarding.com to setup your router and DC++ client. Don't forget to give your computer a static IP adress. btw. routers normally don't show up in the device manager. for more questions about DC++ PM me.
