I must be a Aussie

Recommended Posts

Went for a facial skin today at Mike's shopping centre

It's a very big communal room with like 24 beds where everyone lies down next to each other no curtains etc

The girl doing mine every 5 minutes ,"you give me tip ok ?

It was embarrassing the guy in the next bed heard it and I could hear his facial technician say it to him too

This good ? You give me tip ok?

You tip me ok !

Not once but every few minutes

So anyway to cut a long story short ,the guy next bed to me got up to leave  after his facial

in a broad bogan Aussie accent he said sarcastically to his  facial person  "oh I didn't tip ?

How mean of me eh ? I must be an Aussie

He turn walked out and I heard him say "<deleted> yas all !

So anyway after mine , I went to give her 60 baht my technician

I take it out of my wallet in 20's handing it to her

More ! More ! She said holding her hand out

She is saying as I put each 20 in her hand

More ! Not enough ! 100! 100!

By this time I had already put 3 X 20's in her hand

By this time other farangs on the beds were looking at me ,I was embarrassed

So I look at her and take the 20's back out of her hand ,she is stunned

"Ok ok she said give me !

I repeat what the Aussie guy just said

Oh I didn't tip how mean of me eh ?

I must be a Aussie  !

And I felt good as I walked out

I felt like saying it too ..F yas all ...but Im not a bogan 🖕🖕🖕🖕

Do the locals in Thailand consider all foreigners primarly as a cash cow ? Yes, No ?

Do you often feel being cheated in a price quote once the other party sees you are a non Thai ?

Do they see foreigners flashing around money in girlie bars ?

Do we see foreigners in Thailand spending in one go, any amount 1/3 to 1/2 of the median thai wage ?

If you answered "Yes" to at least 2 of the questions, strong chances that the OP's story is fully true !!

When I think of Pattaya, and then ...

When I think of a "facial" in Pattaya

then....

I would have paid any amount of Bt. to AVOID one.

You can KEEP your facial, Sir.

I did not come to Thailand for a facial.

I thought the golden rule was that as soon as some one asks for a tip, its automatic that a tip is not given...

You're missing the point. I've been to this place many times and no-one has ever asked for a tip. OP's thread history also suggests he can't afford a facial at this place. Made up story

5 minutes ago, it is what it is said:

I must be a Aussie

because they don't teach basic grammar at Australian schools?! 🤣

A mod changed the thread title to that so ask about which schools his grammar is instead 😆

Ops posting history is usually why I ignore any thread of his and anything he writes...

But... there is a point - at times I've been asked for a tip... and that kind of grates a little and kind of ruins the benevolence of being kind and showing additional gratitude for a service.
