Deputy Governor of Yala Accused of Having An Affair with Adopted Son - Video

The deputy governor of Yala province in Southern Thailand is currently under investigation for allegedly committing adultery with his adopted son. The adopted son is also accused of assaulting the deputy governor's wife, stemming from supposed jealousy.

A local Facebook page, Esor News, reported the incident on April 28. They disclosed that the deputy governor, who resided with his male partner, was removed from his position pending an investigation. The social media page posted a document showing the transfer of the official but concealed the     person's name. The deputy governor was moved to the Office of The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior on April 24 until further notice.

After the accusations went public on Thai social media, the adopted son came forward. He identified himself as the adopted son of the deputy governor, Anan Boonsamran. Apparently, Boonsamran adopted him in 2015 after his biological father died in an insurgency attack.

The adopted son negated claims of a romantic relationship between him and the deputy governor. Instead, he insisted that the videos that went viral were merely indicative of a close father-son relationship. Kissing someone's hand and both cheeks, as shown in the video, is a Muslim tradition to show respect. He further denied any romantic involvement, citing his commitment to Islam, which prohibits same-sex relations.

In the same vein, he denied assaulting the deputy governor's wife and presented a screenshot of a conversation with her that showed they were still in contact. The accused party and related legal authorities remain silent on these claims.

That is an appalling file photo!  The news report is about a man having a relationship with his adopted son.

If you're going to use AI for these news stories, at least use a 'real' person to vet the accompanying photos.

Not happy with AN....

And no source as seems to be the new modus operandi. The image 100% is not "Courtesy of Microsoft Bing" which is a search engine and does not license out images.

AseanNow news have taken a deep nosedive. Terrible.

And yes it does matter. If the image wouldn't matter then why include one at all? In some other threads people were confused because the image content suggested certain things which the actual article didn't.

"In some other threads people were confused..."

Why when they all usually indicate the use of a stock photo?

Does it matter?  Perhaps it is meant to be humourous.

Humorous? Maybe the other article of a motorbike crash who showed an image of a totally different crash was also humorous?

No, I did not say that...and this article is not about motorbike deaths or accidents.

They are not all stock photos. And the note that it's a "file photo for reference only" is at the bottom of the post while the image is at the top. No idea why you are defending the new status of using only remotely related or completely unrelated images when before they used photos of the actual incident when available and link to the original news. It's clearly just because they are taking the news content from other places, rewritten by AI, without giving attribution. If they also copied the images from the other news outlets it would be too obvious. Let's be real for a moment.

That would be why it is indicated that the photo is unrelated!

Is it OK then to post unrelated comments?

I didn't say it was. I gave an example of other articles suffering from the same issue. Very clear that this is the new way they post news now. To claim this one here is different and humorous is naive at best.

I don't know, I think a photo of an old man straddling a young boy may have been to much for some!
