Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has denied possessing any knowledge of recent meetings between former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and Myanmar opposition groups.

He emphasized that Thailand, being a close neighbour of Myanmar, is within its rights to initiate discussions within ASEAN's "five-point consensus" and remains open to dialogues with all parties involved in Myanmar's ongoing conflict.

When questioned on the rumours of Thaksin’s talks with representatives from Myanmar’s armed groups opposing the military government, Srettha said he was unaware of such interactions.

He reassured that all discussions his government’s Foreign Ministry and security agencies have with groups in Myanmar are meant to be confidential.

Srettha reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to ASEAN’s consensus to assist in resolving Myanmar’s crisis.

Earlier today, the newly-appointed Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa stated that he is not concerned over Thaksin's meetings with Myanmar’s opposition groups. He confirmed that Thaksin was acting in an individual capacity during these discussions.

Still quite impressed with the speed of Thaskin's recovery after being release from prison for medical reasons.  Actually that is not quite correct.  He was release from the prison hospital.  He never actually set foot in prison.

I kind of feel sorry for him, not really but you know what I mean.

He wants to give it a go but They want him to to wear a hat and swing a cane while doing monorail number from the Simpsons.

Colourful socks and ill fitting suits, make as much noise as you can, while we regroup.

He got pardoned by the highest power/office in the land, not much you can do when that person has ordered it...

Conan O'Brien has said that The Music Man inspired the plot of this episode, and "Ya Got Trouble" inspired the Monorail Song.

Strettha is pedaling a lot of questionable ideas (digital wallet, land bridge, war on drugs), but he's almost too naive to realize these are "cons".

Hmmm. Not a good sign in a PM. He appears to be unaware quite often.

He's off to a good start.

When your boss isn't telling you about important developments... 😆

How he should know?

It was a private meeting. Just teatime, talking about the old days. Nothing about politics, of course.🙏

Oh Srettha, don't make statements like that. You could now be perceived as a child that has been ordered to leave the room, so adults could talk...

Seems the one in-charge and pulling the strings doesn't particularly care whether the underlings are informed or not.
