BREAKING NEWS Thailand delays some requirements of new cannabis rules
Possibly, but so much of what's decided seems to be on the basis of shifts in political alliances. Take the recent "tightening" of alcohol sales. A few months ago this government talked about, and actually implemented, some loosening of the rules. And now they say they want to tighten the rules again, and I can't help but think that this is a decision made by a government in deep trouble who try to curry favour with any group that it thinks might help it cling to power, so this time the anti-alcohol lobby. The decision to outlaw marijuana was abruptly made after Anutin pulled BJT out of the coalition. Is this grace period (as you suggest) a time for businesses to adjust or is Anutin in talks with the Shins regarding a possible patch-up? One thing is certain; Thai politics is never boring. -

UK Gay Times Battles Collapse in Ad Revenue as Anti-Diversity Pressure Mounts
As a young man in the U.K. you really only had two ways to find out about important gay issues, Time Out and the freebie papers in gay-friendly pubs. When Gay Times started in 1984 Aids was about to hit and the paper became crucial to gay young men for unsensational information. Gay Times lost it's way on occasion and submitted to the lure of the dollar but remained relevant even as other papers like Pink News, Advocate and Queerty gained market share. It would be a good discussion to talk about it and the relevance of gay papers today but not on here of course. The usual suspects would insist on braying on about trans people and pedos. -

UK Starmer’s Struggles Laid Bare in Welfare Climbdown That Shakes Labour’s Grip
It's politics. You have fractions in every party that will very strong views. You have to compromise. In this case however, it seems very ill thought out. There will be no cuts as fractions in the party want more spending. So it's going to be a rise in taxes. I predict the will hit Fuel - which in turn is going to push the costs up even more, pushing up inflation. Like i said someone is going to have to take this <deleted> on, even if it means only being a one term party. -
