I get annoyed with myself and my lack of organisation.

Once a week I have to spend an hour or so organising all the things I've downloaded or saved, etc...

And my pristine desktop always gets cluttered (much like my real life desk)

The other day I came across the SIMPLEST easiesty little "tweak"

(BTW> I use XP Pro S.P. 2 )

Left click on your toolbar

Select "Toolbars"/"New Toolbar"

This will open up a dialogue box asking where you wish to place the new toolbar.

Select the "desktop"

This will create a folder on your desktop.

Rename this folder as you wish. (I just chose Virtual Desktop)

Drag all the clutter from your desktop into this folder.

Now drag the folder to any of the edges of your screen. The folder will return to it's place but will create the new ....

Hey Presto! Another toolbar. !!! :D

Now, if you are like me, and don't want it there all the time,

Left click on this new toolbar

and choose your options.

Personally I've selected

View/small icons

Selected "show text"

Always on top

and "Autohide"

This basically means it will Autohide, but when you hover over that side of the screen it will pop out.

UNselected "show title" (the name of the toolbar folder)

As a result, my desktop has only the recycle bin, and the folder for this toolbar.

Anything I want to download, or save, I drag to the side of the screen, my new toolbar pops up, and drop the file there.

Edit:

Oh, and You can repeat this process if you want a third or fourth toolbar.

Heck you can have fun watching foursides of your screen autohide toolbars.. hours of fun :o:D
