Bangkok Airways has unveiled an ambitious plan to invest 2.3 billion baht in the expansion of Samui International Airport and Trat Airport over the next 2-3 years, according to the airline's president, Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth.

 

The expansion at Samui International Airport will see the passenger terminal grow from 7 to 11 boarding gates, along with an increase in the number of check-in counters. The project, expected to cost approximately 1.5 billion baht, and that the number of flights is anticipated to rise from 50 to 73 daily.

So, more flights (and I live directly under the outgoing flight path when the wind blows from the north).

The new Ferry terminal down south.

The new bridge to the mainland.

Better order more water trucks chaps. :whistling:

 

Oh. I nearly forgot.

That probably means that we can forget the 22:00 to 06:00 quiet time.

I don't think so. 75 operations of both start and landing is not a lot within a 16 hours window; i.e., a separation time of about 6 minutes. Busy airports operates with 2-3 minutes.

And more waste disposal, sewage disposal/treatment 55, power generation, traffic management and massage parlours to cope with the influx.

According to The Nation on Saturday, the expansion of Samui airport has been agreed.

As also has the number of flights to be increased to 73 per day.

The airport expansion is planned to be completed in three years.

There was no date given for the increased number of flights.
