I Won’t Change My Underwear!

Featured Replies

After four years in Thailand I still refuse to change my underwear. I simply won’t do it. There is a lot of stuff I had to give up when I moved here; things like weekend bonspiels, prairie oysters, or being able to visit a hardware store for advice. But some things are just too essential.

Every year when I make it back to Canada, I make sure I get to my favorite shop and purchase enough fresh gonch to last another year. I like my brand, it fits me right, I have tried the local variety, and it just isn’t me. I just won’t change!

And now I want to know, how many Thai Visa members import their undies? I have a lady friend who does the same as me; for her it’s a proportion thing. She can’t find satisfaction in Thai lingerie, so she gets her intimates overseas. How about the rest of you, what personal items do you insist on bringing from the hinterland?

I change my underwear once or twice a day.

you could try washing them, instead of buying new ones :D:o:D

Like colpyat I try to change my jocks daily as well. :D

Do agree with you canuck - I have imported all my underwear to Thailand. Can't get briefs over hear that fit, without cutting the circulation off. It is either importing, boxers or free balling for me. :o

Soundman.

Real men don't wear underwear. :o

Go to the "export shop" - lots of western sized stuff. They have branches in several department stores, such as Central Lad Prao, Central Pinklao, The Mall Ngam Wong Wan, etc.

Is that because real men can take the discomfort of chafing & the pain of getting little bits of skin stuck in their zippers, then Dustoff? :D:D:o

I'm the same, I like by Asda boxer shorts. Luckily, last time I was in the UK, I bought two years supply.

Have actually seen those shops, however, the last time I was back in Oz, I bought enough jocks to last nearly twenty years!

After an unfortunate accident long ago from which I still bear a little scar (barely noticeable due to the mass of the object in question),

I attended a 'zipper safety' class at the then local community college.

The chafing is actually part of the pleasure, not the problem.. :bah:

Nah - a seven pack actually. A different colour for every day of the week, just so one doesnt get confused and wear yesterdays smelly, skid ridden jocks by mistake. Bought 10 packs!

I usually stock up on Marks & Spencer's undies once a year in the UK. :o

:o .. Sorry but to viewers of the OP's original post, the invitation to humor is there, init?

Let's see, how can I relate this to Thailand?

Ah, I know - (true story) while shopping the local CM silk shops for gifts for Stateside friends, I came across and purchsed two pair of slinky silk boxers that fit my lanky frame.

Not sure that I would recommend them to my fellow male posters however as the resulting protein stains are difficult to remove and I had this uncontrollable desire to wear lipstick.. :D

I Won’t Change My Underwear!, Is there something wrong with that?

Affirmative ,

far too much information .

Zippers: the scourge of the liberated man!

sounds like the title of "Free Willy 2" :D:bah:

Obviously never had the painful experience of getting it knocked between your knees :o

I'm dreading the day when I'm forced into Thai underwear.

Looks like I'll be going commando when that last pair of MS boxers is retired to bike cleaning duties.

Prairie oysters? Or, by another name, Rocky Mountain oysters or calf fries? :o !!! I'd much rather have the fresh seafood in Thailand than that. UGH

Anyway, :D, Undies are always bought at home as the underwear here just doesn't fit right, nor does it last. Neither am I particularly fond of polyester panties. So, I can see where you are coming from there, it is nearly impossible to find really good underwear in Thailand.

....But prairie oysters? You are sicker than I thought :D

Don't knock em till you've tried em! lol

With lots of butter and garlic, they're way better than escargot :o

Having tried the Thai product, I'm back to buying good cotton boxers from C&A.

The Thai stuff is okay but the market stalls don't seem to stock anything over 30" waist, which is a little too tight for my 34".

They also tend to disintegrate in my washing machine after about ten washes.

730 pairs :o:D:D:D

I have found the complete opposite with jocks (Underwear type) bought in Thailand

They outlast many brands I have bought here

I found the Body Basics underwear from Big C very good, good quality and they fit well. I've been back un the UK 14 months now and they are getting to the end of their life. I'll gladly buy and send UK undies to LOS in return for my favs sent to me....any offers?

What sort of special Canadian underwear do you buy - lined with beaver fur? Please post picture or description, & not with you wearing it please. Yes, I miss those special visits to the hardware store. You don't buy your underware there do you?

Marks and Spencers have stores in Thailand and have good quality skiddies available. However, commando is the way to go i reckon, except when wearing jeans.

No need to go to the hardware shop. Canadian Tire has everything one needs.

LOL, only underwear? How about underwear, shirts, shorts, slacks, shoes, flip flops. I stock up on all that when back home and pay the excess luggage charge. Great quality stuff, I forgot how much better everything is. It lasts 10 times as long
