“School Fire Destroys Classroom, Students Safe Thanks to Scout Activities

The fire was at Wat Mai Krong Thong Secondary School, which is under royal patronise, broke out in the Grade 6/5 classroom on the fourth floor.

Firefighters took approximately 20 minutes to extinguish the flames.

An inspection revealed that students' learning materials, including phones and tablets in their bags, were damaged. Fortunately, at the time of the incident, the students were downstairs participating in scout activities, resulting in no injuries.

Initially, authorities and the school have decided to close all primary level classes for two days. The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, but forensic officers will continue to investigate the exact cause.”
