A suspect in the murder case of a 20-baht shop owner has handed himself in at Khon Buri Police Station. The victim’s family, deeply distressed, is awaiting the chance to confront the accused, particularly the father who wants to understand his motives.

The event took place in Khon Buri District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province when the suspect walked into a 20-baht general store. Tosaporn, the 27-year-old owner, woke up and tried to catch the intruder which led to a physical conflict. The accused, holding a knife, stabbed Tosaporn seven times, causing fatal injuries before rushing away.

Tosaporn’s girlfriend and his 59-year-old father, Somporn, went to the Khon Bur Police Station after learning that the suspect’s mother was bringing her son to hand himself over to the police.

Upon finding out about the suspect’s surrender, Somporn rushed to the police station, eager to see who was responsible for taking his son's life. He expressed a deep need to face the accused, to ask why his son was killed and even admitted that he wished he could hit the suspect once to ease his anguish.

“I won’t accept an apology because my son is no longer around. Saying sorry can’t bring him back. We treated him well and he was a beacon of hope to our family. He was hardworking and he supported the family, but his life was ended abruptly by a criminal.

"The family will have to close and lease out the shop because we have lost our leader. My son’s girlfriend is unable to continue running the shop due to her mental state. I am thankful to the police for catching the suspect promptly.”

According to Tosaporn’s girlfriend, Nidnakorn, the accused did not take anything from the shop. She is confused about the suspect’s motives since even the wallet that was next to her sleeping boyfriend was not touched. Nidnakorn reiterated that she and Tosaporn did not know the suspect and the couple were regarded in the village as friendly and hardworking people.

The police have now taken the murder suspect, a 23-year-old man from a nearby village, into custody at Khon Buri Police Station. They are presently questioning him to learn more about the case.

Condolences for the loss of your son, it's a tragedy.

However loosing the business on top will only add to your grief, maybe hire a manager in the short term to run it until the family recover.

Life goes on.
