Popular Post webfact
In a major drug crackdown across Khon Kaen province, authorities have seized over 46,000 methamphetamine pills and assets worth more than 20 million baht in a rigorous month-long operation. Khon Kaen Provincial Governor Kraisorn Kongchalad, alongside Provincial Police Chief Anuwat Suwannaphum, representatives from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), and the Khon Kaen Public Health Office, held a press conference to announce the stringent measures and their results. Targeting 26 districts and focusing on 139 specific sites within 30 villages, the operation led to the arrest of 154 individuals. Confiscated items included 9,250 meth pills, 0.5 grammes of crystal meth, 11 firearms, 83 rounds of ammunition, and assets valued at 1,183,670 baht. Governor Kraisorn stressed that since June 1, comprehensive efforts have been in place to combat drug issues across all districts. Police conducted searches in 626 locations within 90 villages, resulting in the arrest of 369 drug users, 410 dealers, and four persons involved in other crimes. In total, authorities seized 46,922 meth pills, 909.56 grammes of crystal meth, 2.35 grammes of ketamine, 52 firearms, and 254 rounds of ammunition. Assets worth 20,631,070 baht were confiscated. Kraisorn praised the success in apprehending offenders and encouraging drug users toward rehab. A total of 287 people have voluntarily entered rehab programmes across 26 districts. During a visit to a rehab centre in Nam Phong District, they found the youngest patient—a mere 12-year-old. This highlighted the need to address deeper social issues contributing to drug use. The governor stated, "All rehab centres accept patients voluntarily. They can stay as long as needed, and once drug-free, they can return home. Follow-up checks are random within three months to ensure they remain clean." Khon Kaen, ranking first in drug crackdowns followed by Roi Et, aims to become drug-free. Authorities continue to dismantle drug networks, ensuring ongoing operations to eradicate drug trafficking and abuse in the province. Training and educating people on how to be responsible useful human beings starts in the home at an early age.

A good education, good parenting and good job opportunities for school leavers are what is needed.. all 3 sadly lacking in most cases.
