I read in passing a while ago that the required amount is reduced from 3 million baht to 400K baht, but cannot now find the article I think I saw.  Is this true?

I've seen it mentioned as a possibility in one of the early news reports about the plan to revise the non-immigrant visas.

It was part of the proposals mentioned earlier in the year, though i thought they were talking about it being introduced sometime  from September - December

Just had an acquaintance get a new year extension on an OA visa and I can say with 100% accuracy that the mandatory 100K USD insurance (thru one of the 12 approved thai providers) has not decreased.

The press blurb about it is quite ambiguous too and makes it seem like it's only from Sept to Dec this year

Here's the link for the approved Thai providers for OA insurance
