Sanctioned Ivan has a bone to pick with Bangkok's famous (approximately) 50 year old soup

Featured Replies

The restaurant was not pleased.

The highlight of this video is the look on the lovely Evalina's face at the first taste of the famous broth.

Have you tried the famous (approximately) 50 year old soup?

Do you agree with Ivan and Evalina or not?

I have a question. Is this like a boat noodle soup where they add fresh pork blood? I ask because of the color of the broth.

If I am, I would be very surprised.

This guy liked it anyway.

Review: Wattana Panich's 50-Year-Old Soup in Bangkok - Business Insider

He compared the goat version to Malaysian / Singaporean bak ku teh, (a dish that I like).

So maybe Sanctioned Ivan and the lovely Evalina are yahoos with no taste? I think they had the beef version.

The video confirms the bogus accreditation of Michelin ratings. There is another Michelin rated noodle Restaurant which Thai friends would in all honesty have similar opinions of.

In terms of health safety probably not a major issue given it is brought to the boil for an extended  time. Flavour wise only relevant to individuals.

Ivan might want to think about Michelin law suits ! lol

The place reportedly has good hygiene. The large pot is cleaned well daily and only part of the "old" broth is added to continue the chain.
