ChiangMaiThai
I pay $20 a year to proxify.com. It allows one to access all sites that have been banned by a certain misguided government. What's unique is that if you are a subscriber, you can also access sites that require a username and password ie. PayPal, Hotmail etc. and you appear to be logging in from the US. Today I went to proxify.com and got this: เว็บไซต์นี้ถูกปิดกั้นโดย Cyber Inspector กระทรวงเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร ถ้ามีข้อสงสัยหรือต้องการร้องเรียนให้ส่งเมล์มาที่ [email protected] ข่าวถึงผู้ปกครอง ครู และอาจารย์ สนับสนุนโดย บริษัท กสท โทรคมนาคม จำกัด (มหาชน) Now they are seriously pissing me off. Any ideas on how to get around this? I am required to enter a username and password so I don't think I can just come in through another proxy. Feel free to PM me. Are we living in China or something? Tornado
They banned anonymouse.com as well. Sorry, the web site you are accessing has been closed by Royal Thai Police due to inappropriateness such as pornography, gambling or contain any information which is deemed to violate national security. For more information, please contact "Police Information System Center" Bld#19 2nd Flr, Royal Thai Police, Rama I, Patumwan, Bangkok 10330 Tel. 0-2251-0164, email : [email protected] http://www.police.go.th I use this proxy to do business for the same reasons as you ChiangMaiThai, It really is a pain in the asp. I just tried your link CMT and it works for me via loxinfo, but nonymouse does not. I will join this one I think.
ChiangMaiThai
No problem to reach them via CS-Loxinfo. What ISP are you using? TSpeed, which is of course TT&T and CAT. Who's vested interests am I harming this time? First CAT refuses to open ports that would allow me to make cheap high quality long distance calls as that is their 'revenue source' as it was explained to me and now this... Their other 'revenue source' is whacking ISPs for a hefty chunk of their takings (I think, 30% ?). Of course, now that everything has to run through CAT everything runs much more smoothly than before. And CAT are soooo helpful and responsive to problems

Tornado
Ok George, thanks. I think "madsere" might of been right then as I cannot get through I have not gambled or looked at pornography with nonymouse, but have paid for my server through it - who knows it is a mystery to me. Its just an expansion of their attempt to control the internet.
LivinLOS
Skype runs on port 80 so unless they intend to block http web traffic you should be good to go.
grrr
There are tons of ways around this...usually if you enter the IP address for the site instead of the name it will work. For example, proxify.com is banned for me (TT&T Hi-Net ADSL in Chiang Mai), but if I use any online nslookup tools I can get the IP address (66.98.131.150), which lets me view/use proxify.com. If this didn't work, I could convert the IP address to decimal (1113752470) or octal (010230501626) and view the site that way.

camerata
These proxies work for me via Inet. If the proxies were on the ICT Ministry's list, all ISPs would be blocking them. This sounds like CAT doing some blocking of its own.
camerata
Are we living in China or something? This isn't far wrong. If anything, the TRT party seems to want an autocratic Confucian-influenced society like Singapore's, where the government interferes in every aspect of people's lives. In exchange, the government is supposed to provide economic security...

While the IP address hits the site for me (JI net ADSL) and the domain does not... I get a bad gateway on both the decimal and octal numbers posted above... I was unaware of a conversion between these number bases on DNS servers even having run a SME office domain based net.. care to throw me any kind of bone on this ??
