Fatal Accident on Lampang-Phrae Road Claims Woman's Life; Two Injured

A tragic accident on the Lampang-Phrae road has resulted in the death of a woman and serious injuries to two others, including a young child.

At 5 pm yesterday, July 17, a devastating collision between a car and a 10-wheel truck occurred close to the Wang Ngern shrine. The Mae Tha Police, including their duty investigator, forensic doctors from Mae Tha Hospital, and members of the Mae Tha Rescue Association, quickly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, they discovered a black Toyota car, bearing a Surin licence plate, severely damaged on its right side, with a shattered windshield. Inside, they found three passengers.

The first injured individual was a one-year-old boy suffering from a cut on his lip. The emergency team from the Don Fai Subdistrict Administrative Organisation swiftly transported him to the nearest hospital.

The second injured passenger was 40-year-old Prachya, who was conscious but experiencing severe chest pain and bleeding from the mouth. He was also rushed to Mae Tha Hospital for further treatment.

Tragically, the third passenger, 45-year-old Chalita, was found dead inside the car. Forensic experts confirmed her death at the scene and later transported her body to Mae Tha Hospital for a thorough examination.

About 10 metres from the wrecked Toyota, investigators found the 10-wheel truck involved in the accident. The truck, positioned across the road, displayed significant frontal damage and shattered headlights.

Initial investigations revealed that Chalita was driving the car, accompanied by her younger brother Prachya and her one-year-old son, heading towards Phrae province. The truck was moving in the opposite direction.

The accident happened on a dangerous S-curve section of the road, exacerbated by continuous rainfall. The wet conditions likely contributed to one of the vehicles losing control and causing the collision. Police are conducting a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.

tragic, but normal as long as the driving education is not being improved, and the RTP start doing their job and checks properly

the Lampang -Phrae road ?

There are at least 3 big roads to and from Lampang/Phrae.

All have some dangerous curves.

So which of the 3 , or other ?
