You're the one who brought it up as an example of a real issue. Not me. It is to laugh. -

If you say so... Btw, your "Kindergarten" tautology is obsolete. Simple minds should keep it simple. ;-) -

Allan Lichtman, the Nostradamus of U.S. presidential predictions has made his FINAL pick
Another false apologetic defense on behalf of the Confederacy. There was no mass migration of blacks north after the war. So no shortage. The mass migration of blacks from the South to the North , known as the Great Migration, only began in about 1910. Great Migration (African American) From the earliest U.S. population statistics in 1780 until 1910, more than 90% of the African-American population lived in the American South,[6][7][8] making up the majority of the population in three Southern states, namely Louisiana (until about 1890[9]), South Carolina (until the 1920s[10]), and Mississippi (until the 1930s[11]). But by the end of the Great Migration, just over half of the African-American population lived in the South, while a little less than half lived in the North and West.[12] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Migration_(African_American) -

Authorities Continue to Recover Wreckage and Remains from Small Plane Crash
The landowners "remain cooperative, allowing the authorities to complete their investigation". As opposed to, what, obstructing an official investigation? "the land was initially purchased for investment purposes, the owner expressed concern about its future use, given the tragic events that unfolded on the property" - code for impending money grab from the 'airline' for causing bad karma. -

Cnn just exposed harris
It was all about optics , 4361 ,had some dems voting against it too according to the source. “Two of the border deal’s chief Senate negotiators, Oklahoma Republican James Lankford and Arizona independent Kyrsten Sinema, voted against advancing the measure Thursday, protesting what they said was an unserious process focused on political optics. The bill’s third major sponsor, Connecticut Democrat Chris Murphy, voted in favor”. Sen Langford: “Everyone sees this for what it is,” he said. “It is not an actual effort to make law, it is an effort to do political messaging.” https://missouriindependent.com/2024/05/24/bipartisan-border-bill-loses-support-fails-procedural-vote-in-u-s-senate/ -

Tim Walz: The Unexpected Strength Behind Harris’s VP Pick
There you go, there are always possibilities for concurrence. Completely agree that the USA has been most remiss in their management on both sides of the aisle. Ultimately I trace this back to the Reagan revolution, a time when I was living in the USA. Slashing the taxes to starve the government of revenue has been very effective for the GOP, but not so great from a nation-building point of view. America still spends more on health care per capita than all the other G8 countries, but has the worst health outcomes. This is because, in my opinion, health care and education are best left to government to manage rather than the private sector. There's a fundamental contradiction to health care that runs directly counter to capitalist principles and practice, hence why every other social democracy chooses government-run universal health care and thereby achieve better outcomes at a lower cost. On education, I actually much prefer the US university system to my own in Canada, but I am very grateful I grew up where the public education through high school was great so that I could take advantage of it. There's room for private sector solutions to many things but it's pretty clear that public health ain't one. Thanks for the golf pointer offer - I am still hitting the ball very far even after my hip replacement. Problem is where I keep hitting the ball very far, tends to be woody or wet. -

Thai girlfriend working in a bar
Gosh I missed those posts. Some nice changes to the usual sick buffalo (sick brother that ate all her holiday time). As for the nurse uniform - there used to be a bar in lower sukumvith that had all sort of uniforms you could ask your girl to wear for your encounter. The specialty of that place was the back door entry option (not bar back door entrance, you know what I mean, right?). Anyway, good luck to the op. You have to make sure you go to the right pier for the ferry to Pattaya and get there on time as there are not many ferries going there... -

How often do you check your aorta?
I've had a couple of echocardiograms in the UK, one using air pumped in as contrast which showed a PFO which caused the Bends while scuba diving. The non air echocardiogram showed nothing. 1 in 4 people have PFOs. Dangerous to scuba dive with a PFO. It was a metal probe, gel viewed via a monitor as the heart was pumping. I can't recall any pads attached so doubt there was any -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
When I first met my wife’s family their only form of transport was an old Scoopy that they had bought on an interest only finance deal. The thing was falling to bits but they still owed the original price of the bike. I cleared the outstanding debt and bought them a new Wave. A few years later they started to borrow our Click and only return it when it was empty. I asked why and was told they didn’t like the kick start on the Wave as they were getting old. I gave them our Click and bought an electric bike which they also borrowed but at least when it cames back empty it’s free and easy to charge. Looks like I will be buying them an electric bike soon 🙄- 2
