The government appears ready to take another U Turn on its policy governing the use of Cannabis. 
Rather than re-listing the drug as a narcotic, deputy prime minister Anutin says Thailand will work towards legislating marijuana for medical use.


The prime minister Sretha Thavasin yesterday gave his support to controlling the plant instead of re-listing it as a drug. However parliament still needs to debate the proposed revision to the law.

 

More than one million shops and small business are about to register  to participate in the government's 10,000 baht digital money handout scheme, 


Both sellers and recipients need to apply online from the 1st August to qualify for the handout which is due to be launched in October. 


The prime minister is due to make a statement later today.

 

A United Nations Executive Director Winnie Byanyima yesterday praised Thailand's community-focused approach to people with AIDS, She highlighted Thailand's collaboration with communities to provide health services and its supportive laws for people with HIV. UNAIDS has enlisted Thai leaders and doctors to share their expertise globally.

Chinese scientists have found water molecules in lunar soil for the first time, a discovery that could be fundamental for understanding how the moon evolved and how to exploit its resources.


Samples brought back by American Apollo astronauts 5 decades ago revealed no sign of water and led scientists to conclude that lunar soil must be completely dry.
