Got a bit of spare time on my hands..

In the coming months running up to Christmas I'm going to have a little time on my hands, perhaps more than I would like to have, to be honest..

 

and with all that free time, what is a man to do?

 

Well...

 

A few weeks ago I ordered two books:

 

1001 Albums To Hear Before You Die

1001 Movies To Watch Before You Die

 

they have both just arrived.

 

My plan is to go through each album and each movie 1 by 1 over the coming months.

Each night I will make a cup of tea/glass of wine and kick back with a film, whilst each morning I will kick back with an album.

 

and why not? should keep me out of trouble for a while anyway 🙂 

hopefully there are some hidden gems lurking within these pages.

I have over 40K cd's and maybe 1000 movies, so I've heard quite a few. According to IMDB's best 100, I have most of them besides a few foreign titles. If you're around my age, 67, you might already have heard many if not most of the albums and a lot of the movies.

yes, I don't mind going over old ground.

 

But I am hoping to watch/listen to some hidden gems.

There's a few movies I know I haven't watched and a few I might have but can't recall. I would like to know what their lists have. As far as music, I don't waste time listening to most pop and some others people like because they aren't what I'm into. There's so much music out there and so little time so I stick to what I like or try others people like who have the same kind of taste in music that I have.

This is precisely why I bought these books.

 

They were compiled by the original editor of Rolling Stone and multiple film critics.

 

I'm hoping that each movie/album will have something to offer.
