The investigation into a bogus prosecutor charged with fraud and impersonation is expanding. Police in Bangkok arrested the suspect last Thursday during a lecture at a Nonthaburi high school. He faces charges of illegal impersonation, fraud, and importing false information onto a computer system. Checks showed that Mr. Mongkol had unofficially advised a senior prosecutor. The investigation is being expanded, with witnesses due to be interviewed tomorrow.


40 former senators who petitioned the Constitutional Court to dismiss Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin for appointing someone with a criminal record as a cabinet minister will submit their closing statement by the end of the month.    

 

They want the court to hold the prime minister accountable for appointing an ineligible person.Mr Pichit resigned from his post as PM's Office Minister just before the court accepted the petition, which observers see as an attempt to spare Mr. Srettha from legal difficulties.


Downloads of the application connected with the 10,000 baht digital handout scheme has increased 15-fold ahead of Thursday when the public will be able to use the app to register for the scheme.  Daily usage jumped from around 50,000 to over 800,000 downloads and logins.


The State Railway of Thailand closed the country's longest train tunnel just after its Sunday opening for a 14-day clean-up. Passengers had complained about thick dust in the 5.4-kilometer Saraburi tunnel, the contractor has been instructed to clean the tunnel within the next two weeks.
