Frustrated by ongoing issues with foul odors and wastewater emissions, more than 100 villagers from Village 3, Nong Hiang Sub-district, and Village 10, Nong Prue Sub-district, gathered to protest in front of a plastic smelting factory in Chonburi Province.

The villagers have been allegedly suffering from the factory’s emissions for many years. Despite a previous protest on July 24, 2024, which led to an inspection by officials from the Chonburi Provincial Industry Office, the Phanat Nikhom District Chief, and the Nong Hiang Sub-district Administrative Organization, the factory has allegedly continued its operations without resolving the issues.

During the previous protest, officials concluded that the factory should close for renovations to address the problems. However, the factory remained open, and the issues persisted. In response, the villagers gathered once again to demand action.
