If Trump quits the race in hopes of another Republican pardoning him

Featured Replies

what if .... there's another pandemic around the time of the election that throws everything into chaos?

sorry, have no clue about your question. just spamming your thread.

Why would a new GOP candidate pardon Trump? IMO they'd be more inclined to bury him.

Who could that new choice be?

I don't think it's possible for the Republicans to replace Trump.  The GOP has already had their convention.  Even replacing Vance (there's been talk) would be hugely difficult.  There was talk of Biden pardoning Trump if he won in the name of "healing" the US.  And knowing Biden, he might do something like that.  But I doubt Harris would.  Especially since Trump is out there spewing all manners of hate and vitriol at her.

But if Trump starts to really worry about losing and ending up in prison....who knows?  Maybe he would be open to working out some sort of deal with the Democrats, sort of like a plea deal.  This would actually be ideal as it'd avoid a messy election.  And in some GOP quarters, they're hoping Trump would lose anyway so the Republican Party can start rebuilding itself and ridding it of MAGA.  Anyways, mostly wishful thinking.
