Wise removes Long Stay Reason on Transfers
WIse only uses 3 banks to do transfer into Thailand. If your bank is not one of the 3 then it gets the "domestic transfer code" as it does travel domestically from the inital bank to your bank. -

Wise removes Long Stay Reason on Transfers
I've been using "Personal expenses" for several years and it always appears in Bangkok Bank as "international Transfer". Not saying that it's the same for everyone, but it is the case for me. -

Australian Aged Pension
I'm not sure where you are getting your information from, but you may need to read @LosLobo's reply above. You can get the full pension if you have been a permanent resident for 10 years before you reach pensionable age .https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/residence-rules-for-age-pension?context=22526 "To get Age Pension you generally need to have been an Australian resident for at least 10 years in total. For at least 5 of these years, there must be no break in your residence." The link above will help you understand the rules. -

Thailand Introduces New Bill to Regulate Cannabis While Keeping It Legal
Agreed, no one will buy 0.2% cannabis, has little functional use - will kill industry leading to de facto criminalisation of recreational cannabis users. Back to the stupidity of the Wars on Drugs, when they should focus on Yaba which is destroying rural Thailand! -

If passed, how likely is global income tax in 2025? Or is 2026 more likely?
Mate - IMO they will never have a clue. How can Somchai and Pornchai in a local Provincial TRD Office (where PTI tax returns are done) be expected to understand the DTAs of 61 different countries. And given how Immigration Officers all 'interpret' things differently and are sometimes 'biased' - I doubt they will always give a fair and balanced and correct decision, when they assess your tax return - so IMO dont do it unless absolutely mandatory (you earn 'real' income). Maybe TRD is going to 'centralise' PTI tax returns from Expats due to the complexities of of the different DTAs - that might work out. But leaving it in the hands of under-educated under-trained TRD locals is not something that an Expat should try to deal with. More likely they are going to demand that any Expat using a DTA for exemptions and reductions, must use a registered tax agent - which I am told will cost a lot when it comes to DTA issues. One company quoted me 20K+ for a basic return that included DTA work - and it could cost a lot more if a local TRD Officer questions anything and wants more details.- 1
