I already bought one, for under 3,000, but if you can send some links for dry herb vapes I might buy some extras

Are you talking about vape cartridge devices? Dry herb vape pens are considerably more.

So I've been using the Starry 4 for 8 days already. Started with Triple Gorilla which is not very strong, vaping at between 190c to 205c. 200c worked best for me. Yesterday changed to Mimosa at 190c and it was great.

As I was away from home I only did very basic cleaning, but now that I'm back home it's time to give it a good clean I guess.

In the instructions and all websites I looked at they say to clean it with isopropyl alcohol, which I assume is less toxic than Methanol. As I have at home 95% Ethanol (tried to extract the THC oil a couple of years ago) I was thinking to use that, but can't find any info regarding using Ethanol for the cleaning instead of isopropyl. I know Ethanol is food grade basically, but I don't know if it might damage the Starry. Anyone ever used Ethanol for vaporizer cleaning?

I’ve noticed that these stainless steel dosing capsules tend to expand slightly over time, likely due to heat from the dry herb vape’s oven. When this happens, the lid no longer attaches securely because the mouth of the capsule becomes a bit too wide.

To fix this, I’ve found that gently placing the capsule in a vice grip, with the mouth of the capsule facing down between the jaws, works best. Once the capsule is in position, tighten the vice grip screw just slightly to apply light pressure to the capsule’s mouth. You only need a minor adjustment, perhaps just a fraction of a millimeter, to allow the lid to fit snugly into the mouth of the capsule again.

If I accidentally over-squeeze and the mouth of the capsule becomes too narrow for the lid, I use a wide flathead screwdriver. I insert the screwdriver head into the capsule and gently twirl it in a circular motion to apply slight outward pressure, expanding the sides of the capsule just enough for the lid to fit properly in place again.

With all these adjustments, the key is to go slowly and gently to avoid applying too much pressure to the mouth of the capsule in any one direction.

So, a year on from the last post on this topic

  • ?What's everybody's latest dry herb vape recommendation. Last year, there seemed to be some consensus on Starry 4. I'm also thinking of springing for one of the Storz and Brickel models. Does anybody know if they use a removable battery (the 18650)? Also, are they using both conduction and convection? How about the Starry 4, same questions.

I'd buy another Flowermate V5 Nano, but Thai Vape Shop doesn't appear to be operating any longer.

I am still happy with the Starry 4. Battery is removable. Spare parts available at the store I bought the Starry 4 (in BKK but I order and he send it by post)

Thanks so much for your info!

Do you know which battery it uses? I've got a bunch of 18650 rechargeables.

The battery on the link below works well in that model. They are 3400mAh, so they are higher capacity than the original 2600mAh that it comes with.

The only thing to look out for with these 18650 model batteries in general is to make sure that you are using one with a flat tip on the + side of the battery like the ones on the link below. Some are made with a raised tip and those won't fit inside the battery compartment.

You can vape at much lower temperatures--all the good stuff (sorry for the heavy scientific terminology) is vaporized at 160 or so (can't remember the exact numbers). Sure you get less smoke, but the smoke is not the point, is it? It's the effect.

I don't think you can get the desired terps at that low of a temp.

I usually start at 190°C and go as high as 223 °C.

Well, I went all-in and got a high-end S&B product for myself for Xmess. Ordered from Amazon UK. Failed to clear customs- saw the notice 2100 Xmess Eve. Disaster. No Sanity Clause.

Contacted Kondee at 0100. 4 hours later, it's in my hand, BKK --> PTY, along with a little bonus for testing purposes.

I don't quite understand everything here. I'd like to order a Pax Flow, but Thai customs is strict. They intercepted some cannabis seeds that I ordered from the UK, which was disappointing.

How did you get it through?

Can buy the vaporiser here in Thailand. Price is just about the same as ordering online from overseas yet arrives faster.
