  • A freelancer would be in the perfect position to plead poverty to get the Max benefits......While continuing to make piles of unreported income....... The girls would love it.......lol

  • Barfines 500฿ plus tax 😊

At years end we expats will be taxed on our pensions from abroad, I was referring to this unhappy state of affairs. Since we will be taxed without representation I think it only fair that we should have some of the welfare advantages enjoyed by Thais.

So you are not a Thai tax paying expat yet, if at all, due to DTAs.

When you say welfare advantages, would that include roads, street lights, immigration offices, police ? You know, all those services that you currently get for free!

Those services are there with or without me, with every purchase I make I pay taxes, with every visit to the IO I help to keep them employed, I helped keep several builders employed, I bring in foreign currency all year round, I'm already an asset not a loss and when taxation starts (I expect to pay 30k) I want some of the advantages as a Thai who pays no tax.

It is absolutely essential that they take good care of the freelancers, they are a national treasure.

Then apply for citizenship! What you want and what you are actually entitled to are two totally different things. Don't like it? Close the door on the way out.
