Woman's Motorbike Stolen Before First Payment After 4 Years of Saving
Picture courtesy: Daily News NONTHABURI - A laundry maid's hard-earned motorbike was stolen just before the first loan instalment was due. Ms. Wilaiwan, who works at a launderette and sells street food in the evenings, had diligently saved for four years to pay a 14,000 baht deposit for the motorbike, needed to take her child to school and commute to work. The theft occurred in the early hours of 9th January, as captured by CCTV. The footage showed a suspect, dressed in black and wearing a helmet, tampering with the locked motorbike outside her home in Nonthaburi. In under two minutes, the thief managed to break the lock and make off with the vehicle. It’s believed that at least two perpetrators were involved. Ms. Wilaiwan expressed her distress, having planned to make the first instalment payment that day. The bike, a blue and black Honda Wave, had been in her possession for barely a month. Despite the CCTV evidence, the culprits remain at large. She appealed to the local police for swift action, keen to retrieve the motorbike vital for her family's livelihood, reported Daily News. Bangkok Traffic Innovations Cut City Congestion by 25% in Two Years
That’s a great statistic. Probably used figures from roads that had previously had roadworks on them. When the roadworks are gone, traffic flow speeds up. But on a more serious note, it did always look like a lot of the traffic was created by manual switching of traffic lights by individual police boxes with no automatically coordination with the next set of lights down the road, so any technology to improve this is welcome. London fiddled the statistics with the introduction of the congestion charge by the way. They increased the amount of time given to pedestrians to cross every junction, therefore keeping traffic at red lights for longer, for more than a year before the charge was introduced, which created almost gridlock. ”Look at the terrible traffic” then introduce the charge, reset the lights and as if by magic, traffic improves ”Look at the improved traffic flow because of the congestion charge” I don’t trust any of them. -

Gulf of America.
I just bought some land on the Gulf of America side about 7 miles inland. I thought the drilling might bother me but I don't care. I came here in a truck hauling a camper to get started. There is also a nuclear power plant in the area. There are million dollar homes and trailers. I love Florida. -

Where is the best place to buy pork loin for roasting in oven?
Can't advise on this. I gave up eating meat years ago after my one and only visit to a slaughter house. -

Desperate Russians using wooden logs for protection
It's amazing how the Russians for the last couple years are continually taking ground against the Ukraine army using shovels and wood armoured tanks. -

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2025)
Kalak (movie) It felt the right time to watch the first Greenlandic content movie that I've even seen. A quite interesting quirky story of a Danish male nurse with a back story of sexual abuse by his father working in Greenland with his family but also into a lot of open relationship affairs with the locals. Based on the opening scene alone -- not for children. The scene where he talks to a doctor who is a connoisseur of pharmaceuticals is a true classic and no doubt reflects a dark reality of some in the health industry. You get a real sense of place (Greenland) from the movie, not so much about outdoor scenes but more about indoor culture. The meaning of Kalak is dirty Greenlander which is used both positively and negatively. -

Elon Musk Backs British Farmers Protesting Against Labour’s Inheritance Tax Plans
I agree with the farmers but since Musk is now so entwined with Trump he should be more concerned with the devastation wrought to the mid-west by China canceling the 164 billion dollar contract to buy Soy from American farmers and has turned to Brazil and Argentina instead, all part of Xi's belt and road plan, looks like America's bullying with tariffs is back firing bigly. -

Japan dethrones Thailand as top tourist spot
Real country. Why are you here? Ha My friend was in Springfield and we drove around that area in the country. Very nice and I was thinking about the deer hunting while I was there. You weren't far from Quabbin Reservoir, which I heard about reading Field and Stream or Outdoor Life magazines.
