What's this?: Can I eat it?

Recommended Posts

Dear Folks,

As you may or may not know, I am a retiree on a tight budget.

This is why, anytime I venture outside my house, I am always on the lookout for things edible, in order to supplement my meager diet.

Due to inflation in Thailand, I have less real money to spend on food.

So then, I have seen a few of these around my house.  And I am wondering if they might be a source of protein, if I either eat them raw or, maybe even cook them.

I am a sashimi lover.  And, I love octopus, sliced thinly.....

So, if I were to open this guy up, and slice him thinly, would it be OK?

Or, would it be better to heat him up, just to be sure to kill any parasites that might be lurking within him?

This is one heck of a big guy, and I have not seen many larger than he.

Do you eat things in your garden....similar to this?

Personally, I am a naturalist, even more than I am a naturist.

This is why I find this guy so gall-darned fascinating.

He is still here.....and he is slow moving.

So, let's get a few opinions on this question, before he gets away.

Thank you, much.

I am always very hungry, these days, since inflation set in...following the Pandemic.

Best regards,

And thank you for your help.....

Gamma

NOTE4:  Having spent just about my entire life in China, like the Chinese, I can eat almost anything....and love it.
