Us govt insisted in writing into his plea agreement that he can’t file a case in a European Court of human rights  or 

even a freedom of information act request as a result of its Expedition request.He said he wasnt free because of the system ! He’s free cause He pled guilty to journalism.

He also regrets how much has been lost, how expressing the truth has been undermined, he sees more impunity , secrecy and more retaliation for speaking the truth .

He through a shot across the the bow 

by saying the US Govt. Crossed the Rubicon by intentionally criminalizing journalism.
