Local authorities in Pattaya, led by Mr. Weekit Manarojkit, District Chief of Banglamung, and Mr. Poramet Ngampichet, Mayor of Pattaya, along with municipal safety officials, conducted a thorough inspection of entertainment venues along Walking Street in South Pattaya, on the evening of October 1. The inspection aimed to enhance safety standards and prevent potential fire hazards as the city prepares to welcome an influx of tourists during the upcoming high season.

The inspection focused primarily on fire escape routes and firefighting equipment installed by venue operators. Authorities confirmed that the establishments had appropriately placed fire extinguishers and clearly marked emergency exits for tourists. The team also reminded venue managers to regularly inspect fire extinguishers and smoke alarms and to train staff on evacuation procedures in case of a fire.

Mayor Poramet Ngampichet emphasized the importance of fire safety, especially as the high season approaches. "Pattaya City is working in coordination with the Banglamung District and other departments, including the building control office, to ensure that entertainment venues comply with safety standards. Our primary concern is fire safety, with a focus on accessible emergency exits and functional firefighting equipment. These measures are crucial in protecting both lives and property should an emergency occur," the mayor stated.

Mr. Weekit Manarojkit, District Chief of Banglamung, highlighted the growing number of tourists expected to visit Pattaya in the coming months, particularly to popular areas like Walking Street. "This inspection, in collaboration with the mayor, aims to reassure visitors that our entertainment venues are fully prepared and safe. With fire exits, clear signage, and alarm systems in place, tourists can feel confident that their safety is a top priority," he added.

The inspection is part of a broader effort by Pattaya City to ensure the safety and well-being of both local residents and tourists as the high season approaches.

That'll last all of 5 minutes, then business as usual.

Of course it´s god that they focus on security as alarm and fire extinguishers. However, is that really the main threat? As I read the news, I found that both illegal and legal drugs of all forms, including alcohol, are a big issue, together with other criminal activities and braindead security guards. Maybe they should focus on that as well.

It it you that have no sense of humour......my reply was in jest.

You seem to be so cranky.

Most adult foreigners know prostitution is illegal here.

But commonly seen in Pattaya and some other parts of major cities.

Another man and myself only joked on that.

And did it prove you bad?

Can't help as it was  quite unpredictable.
