👍 Bravo Mr Trump.

Yes, kudos to the Don for not being afraid to speak the truth. I have been to the Dominican Republic right next door to Haiti. From what I saw I do believe the rumors about the Haitians eating dogs and cats. I wish they would come to Thailand and eat some of the miserable soi dogs. They would have a feast.

The Haitians trump continues lying about (Springfield) are legally processed and accepted refugees.

30,000 added to a population of 55,000, i'm sure all the residents were over the moon with that. were they included in any discussions about it?

12-15,000 added to a population of 58,662 (in 2020). But why let reality cloud your mind.

AP says more that 15,000, how many more?  1000, 5000, 10000? so who is actually right?

Deflection - for once how about acknowledging trump's demonisation and misinformation of a minority. BTW were your Thai neighbours consulted about agreeing to your presence?

He think its wrong that so many have been forces into a small population, whats wrong with that?

were the residents consulted?

how and when were they granted legal status, there is normally a process to go through. (A  Thai friend went through it at great cost to be with his US wife & child but got refused)

do you not think the sudden influx will be a strain on resorces?

do you know all the facts or just get frothy because Trumps highlights the issues.
do you agree with the millions flooding ...would you house some? i doubt it

The Thais where i live were very happy with the westerners coming originally as many bought land, built houses, set up businesses with locals and employed locals as staff

are the Haitians doing the same?

If you cared to read my answer before answering it, you will see that I gave the same link. So, yes, I have read that page. That is also the page that says 12-15,000.

They are not US citizens:

then you also saw the issues they face with infrastructure and resorces to cater for the sudden influx.  where are they housing these 30,000?..sorry, 15,000+

Deporting immigrants would have a negative impact on the US economy:

But Trump doesn't care. He just wants to stir the pot and generate fear amongst the credulous in order to get elected and avoid prison. He has no discernible policies to promote and is just banging on the same old drum to appeal to anti-immigrant and racist sentiment that is rampant within a certain demographic in the US. The other element of his support is the 0.01% who don't want to pay taxes or have their companies subject to the types of regulations that make the US safer, cleaner and healthier.

Classic authoritarian demagogue move.

My question is - how did they find accommodation for 30,000 people in a town of 52,000?

Was it a ghost town before?

Springfield used to have a population of over 80,000, so there is probably some leeway, but perhaps 15,000 recent arrivals would strain low income housing.
