Abbreviations For Males And Females On Thai Id Cards

Featured Replies

As an afterthought to a prior post, does anyone know the abbreviations designating gender (males and females) on Thai ID cards?

I seem to recall a friend telling me that there are separate abbreviations for males, single females, and married females, but not sure.

Not sure about the abbreviations, but you are right about the three alternatives:

นางสาว Miss EDIT: Abbreviated น.ส. (Wikipedia list of abbreviations in Thai)

นาง Mrs.

นาย Mr.

The list has nothing for นาง and นาย ... I cannot recall seeing them abbreviated on national ID cards, but I could be wrong.

There are no abbreviations for นาง and นาย

Thanks MS and Bobcat. Just the info I needed and consistent with what I recall seeing previously.
