Yes police negotiate as they don't want to have to do all the paperwork and then appear in court. It undermines the punishment needed to deter violations. Your court example is seldom if every successful even if you were to win. I don't believe pedestrians have the right if way everywhere, only at marked and designated crosswalks. Having the right of way does little to help if your tragically injured or killed. Collecting on penalties\fines is a whole other can of worms -

Something strange happens in the region. Films and newspapers told us that people are running from NK to SK. But Z guys see that the population of NK is growing by several hundreds of thousands every year but the population of SK is reducing by the same amount. Looks like people are running from SK to live in the NK, right? I suggest that southern Koreans feel safer under the Kim`s nuclear umbrella. -

i was on a train from ayutaya to bkk, we stopped on the outskirts of bkk, after about 20 mins people were just sitting there, no announcements, i decided to get off and have a look. a quick inspection of the front of the train highlighted the problem, the engine had gone. clearly we would be sitting there in ignorance for a while, so i grabbed my stuff and jumped in a passing taxi. -

The difference was that when Mor Phrom was introduced it couldn't be used without a 13 digit code. Something that caused a great deal of consternation in the expat community. At the end of the day the yellow book has benefits that many are not aware of, yet quite prepared to claim there is no benefit. -

"If a Thai resident earns foreign-sourced income in 2024 and brings it into Thailand in the same year or any subsequent year, they will be subject to PIT on that income, regardless of whether they are resident in Thailand at the time". Using that interpretation, that means any tax resident is taxable on foreign sourced income, even if they are not tax resident.....say what!!! -
