Hdtv

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if hdtv is available in Thailand ? I am pretty sure that you can buy hdtv capable tv's but is anyone broadcasting a hdtv signal ?

No there is no HDTV signals available VIA DVB-S (the only hope we would have as the chances of OTA HDTV in thailand is a joke)... I keep hopeing that loose HDTV will pick up on the Oz sats but as they are working with OTA it is highly unlikely.

I actually work in video compression technologies as a hobby and am a microsoft MVP for thier WMP9 HD codecs. If you have HDTV capable display equipment there is a very limited supply of HDTV DVD's in WMVHD format, currently these can only be played by a PC, although next gen WMV players should be out very soon.
