Heads-up for US voters who mailed their ballots at the Chiang Mai US Embassy Voter Drop-box

Check with your voter precinct in the state and county where you vote to make sure your ballot was received.
I dropped mine off almost a month ago and it never arrived.  Well, my trust in government institutions isn't bolstered by that.

 "Hi - we're from the government and we're here to help!"

🙄 Of course you are. I should have just mailed it. That's the first and last time I'll use the "convenient" US voter drop-off box.

"Place your ballot in here and it will drop-off the radar and into the circular file."  👈 Probably closer to the truth.

The service is very slow.  Mine took over a month.  Remain patient and continue to check if it was received.

It's too close to the general election.  I contacted my voting precinct and submitted a ballot via email yesterday which has now been accepted.

A bit puzzled by your comment as I understood that online (email) voting is not allowed in the US for federal elections.

It is allowed depending on the jurisdiction.

That sucks.  Ballot was mailed from US on Oct. 11, received on Oct. 15, completed and deposited at CM consulate Oct. 17.  Here's hoping that as Election day draws nearer the Consular staff put in some extra effort/time.

I know that some (most?) states allow online application to request an absentee ballot as I have done that for years in Michigan (which allows it),  I do that every January and then get my ballots for every election, federal or local, by email (which I print out, complete, and mail back).

However, wasn't aware that online voting was available for federal elections......but my understanding may be incorrect.

Not sure if this qualifies for what people think online voting is. State of Washington; you can download your ballot, must be printed out. You can then, fill it out and mail it in, if you so desire. However you can also take pictures of it, with your phone, all the pages. And e mail those in.  I assume it is statewide, but do not know for sure. It may be the county you are registered to vote in. Note - This must be set up beforehand, designating you as an absentee/overseas voter.

Tell that to the WA Secretary of State:

How can I return my ballot?

Washington State law allows overseas and service voters to return their ballot materials electronically through email or fax, by mail, or in-person if there is a drop box available.

In WA State, Expats can download and print out an individualize ballot package (WA has a voter portal to do this), fill it out, and either fax or email back to your county elections office.

I assume it is quite slow as someone has to go through them all and remove both votes for Trump.

That shouldn't take long.  Just allow the ones using crayons and bin the rest.

They have staff?

Amazing...

Glad to help a WA state voter. You are a WA state voter?! Or just a right wing woofer, who cuts & pastes others info., as you have little knowledge of the USA, and/or too lazy to find out yourself.

Sad, but common these days.
